CRAFTING IDEAS

Attempting to make your life simple with simple crafting.

Welcome to the crafting section of Wake, Bake, and Makes! Here you will find all the simple and semi simple...okay some of them can be difficult, but let me tell you that it is worth it in the long run. Some of them will be videos, some of them will be step by step, but overall they will all be fun and the end result will always make you feel accomplished. At least they have for me. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to message me!

SIMPLE MOTHERS DAY CRAFT

Hey all! This year was the first year that I was able to celebrate Mother’s Day, but also the first for 2 fantastic grandmas! Being that the little man is only 2 months old, I had to think of something super simple that way he didn’t fuss. So, this is what I did!

Mothers Day Frame

I went to 5 Below and bought two frames that were about $4. The paints I already had at home, but you can get them at 5 Below, dollar store, Walmart, etc. I used a gallon ziploc bag because that was the only way I was fitting the frame into it.

  1. Place tape in any pattern or words that you prefer on the frame.

  2. Only put small drops of paint on the frame after you’ve completed the tape design.

  3. Place the frame in the ziploc bag.

  4. Using your little ones hands, feet, butt whatever you are able to do to keep them from fussing or to keep it easy for them, have them or assist them in spreading around the paint.

  5. Once you feel it is completely covered, allow your little one to relax, take the bag and remove the frame.

  6. Allow the frame to dry and then remove the tape.

  7. If there is anything you want to add design or quotes or so on, you can add them with whatever color sharpie you desire, but make sure you are using a sharpie as markers will fade.

Other than that, it truly is a really simple craft and both received happy tears from both grandmas. Little man was a little fussy, but he had just woken up from a nap. Make sure that they are well rested and not just waking up from a nap. Lesson learned.

Happy crafting!

TAYLOR SWIFT PROJECT

Let’s go back to Christmas of last year. I have been DYING for an Ipad for YEARS to start designing my own stickers. This year not only did I receive the laptop I have been in need of so that I could use my cricut, but also an Ipad so that way I could finally use procreate. Being said, I started going all out! I created several different tattoo and sticker designs. Now, my best work so far has been my representation of Taylor Swift songs for my friends who went to a Taylor Swift Concert a few weeks ago.

Being said, here are the results!

For Annika, we did songs from the ‘Speak Now’ album and for Jenna, we had certain songs which are Picture to Burn, Lover, Invisible String, The Lakes, and Paper Rings.
