The One, The Only, Paula's Coffee House

Back when I made my post about attending my first vendor event of the season, I made mention of a local coffee house, Paula's Coffee House. Today enlightened me to how absolutely amazing not only their coffee is, but their staff as well. So, where do we begin?

For the last few months, I have been on maternity leave. It's been hard to say the least because I was so used to getting up and doing whatever I had pleased at any moment. Spontaneity was my thing. However, with a little one, that isn't the case anymore. I have to be more attentive to what I do or in this case what we do. I've been in the house a large majority of the time because he isn't necessarily old enough to do any strenuous activities. So, my sister in law occasionally would bring us items from Paula's and their food, *chefs kiss*. It's phenomenal. My husband is a sucker for banana and peanut butter, so when his sister Jacqueline brought us toast with banana and peanut butter on it, he was on cloud nine. I for one enjoyed the fruity pebble rice krispy treat along with their blueberry muffin. Warmed up with butter....ugh I was in heaven!

Drinks, I think the most memorable drink I had was the peppermint mocha as it was the day of my wedding. I will never forget it. I'm gonna be dead serious here, there is a new drink literally EVERY SINGLE DAY! Their lavender drinks by far have been one of my absolute favorites. However, their dirty chai with 3 pumps of brown sugar cinnamon, whipped cream, and 3 shots of espresso is my absolute go to! The one I have been dying to try was a peanut butter pie that was their one day special. It sounded so divine and right up my ally.

Today, was a bit different. You see, right now my son, who is 4 months old, is going through sleep regression. He's getting up around 3am/4am every single morning after his feeding at 12am. Being said, I don't normally sleep until 9pm/10pm. With this being said, he also wakes up around 12am to feed and well, I get MAYBE 3 hours of sleep a night. Give or take. So, today I decided that I was going to go to Paula's and grab something to drink and eat because I needed to get out of the house and do something with the little guy because he just wasn't having it. Being that Paula's is just around the corner from me, maybe 2 or 3 blocks max, I decided to go for a walk with my son. I got there, realized maybe I should have brought the 5 with me. I went up to the counter and ordered a shaken espresso with 3 pumps brown sugar cinnamon syrup and oat milk with a blueberry muffin and was like shit...I was off legit by $1.20. Damnit. Before this occurred, I had just a normal conversation with the barista and I wanted to cry because of how thoughtful and amazing she was to cover the remaining balance. I have had such a rough last two days and with only give or take 6-8 hours of sleep for 2 days and being a first time mom, this absolutely made my day. I'm tearing up even typing this.

So, just so you know everyone, there is still good in this world, town, etc. To wake up this morning and just go and grab a drink and a breakfast snack, I wouldn't have thought it would change my entire day. Things were amazing today. Positive, uplifting, just in general, an overall fantastic day. I wanted to make a post about it because , for starters Paula's is such an amazing and has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere and two...because that barista was so incredible. I truly wish that there was more that I could do to let her know how much I appreciate her. So, if you have any ideas let me know! What she did, changed and made my day better and I would love to do the same for her.
